Unit 35. M1
Limitations...
The limitations of the technology is that it can be quite expensive just for the one work space. Also some people people could find the technology quite difficult to use if they haven't worked with computers etc...
With the Philips PicoPix projector once the bulb has ran out a new one will have to be replaced and the bulbs are very expensive, also it can be a pain to change them. The bulbs would have to be cleaned frequently as well. The Norton internet security will eventually run out also so it will need to be renewed and it costs £39.99 a disc. The EPSON expression premium printer will cost a lot as well. Different colours or ink will have to be bought to print out pictures and other things that involve colour and it will also cost money for laminated paper, card etc.. The Logitech wireless mouse can be a problem as well because it can sometimes stop being wireless. With the Acer desktop PC it may over heat if it has been used for so long and it could gradually become slower the older it gets. The Acer HD monitor will sometimes turn off if it has been on for awhile and this could get annoying when doing work. Lastly with the Microsoft wireless keyboard the keys may get stuck sometimes and like the mouse it may lose its wireless.
I would say that all the technology shown are worth the money because these problems can be solved easily and you are getting your moneys worth.

For P6 the problems were that your eyes strain easy if you are using your phone for long. To prevent straining your eyes by using your phone you can take regular breaks and you can attach a screen filter onto your phone or computer. You can also adjust the brightness of the technology you're using, the brighter the screen is the more your eyes strain.
There are a lot of mechanisms put in place. WiFi is protected by having a their own individual password. To avoid hacking you should change the password regularly or put a password that no one would think of guessing. By doing scans regularly on your phone or computer it will find out if you have been hacked or if your technology is still safe.
In office's and call centers at work there are health and safety rules and before working in one of them places the workers are trained to have regular breaks so their eyes don't strain from using the computers for long and they also have wrist pads so their hands don't get hurt from typing for ages.
To stop people from going on their phones whilst they're driving there are hands free handsets made that you clip on to your ear and whenever you get a call from someone you speak to them through that.

Unit 14. P6
Mobile technologies have a huge impact on social life because people would rather text or phone each other than speak to each other face to face. SMS is very useful though because you can contact people you haven't spoke to in a while e.g family and friends. Being on your phone can cause eye strain though if you have been on it for long and that can cause problems with your eye sight. Some phones have internet access also so you can have facebook and put photos from your phone on to there and you can contact other people through inbox.
The big problem with phones is illegally downloading music and other things that would usually cost money. Many companies lose out on a lot of money through people downloading things for free.
Using phones whilst driving is a huge problem. Many people have crashed and been injured really bad whilst driving because they get distracted by the other person talking on the phone and if you get caught on camera you may lose your licence and possibly get a fine.

Unit 14. P5
You can buy a phone like a samsung galaxy s3. At a price of around £250-£300 or at a low cost of £20 a month on contract. It includes internet, 3G and you can get apps that can track down other phones so you know where that person is and you can tell if they're working or not. That would be good for the boss of the company to get a hold of people much easier and he can track them down. There would be some money left over also. By having a sat-nav as well drivers will know where to go so they won't waste any time getting to their destination.
Unit 14. P7 and D2
An easy way of sending a contacts number to another phone is through text. Click onto the contact number, highlight it and it should give you options saying something like copy, edit, select etc... Click copy then go on to SMS and paste the number into the text then send it. That is the easiest way. More ways is to click onto the contact and it should say 'Send Contact Card' the options given could be Email, PIN, Text Message, Bluetooth etc.. By using Bluetooth you need to be close to the person to send it and you will need to pair up with the other device but other than that it is ultra fast to send and it is completely free. By using Email you will need a Email Address and you can then attach the contact into a file then put the file into a message then send it to the person you want to send it to. Using Email is the hardest out of all of the protocols. It is very complicated and the other person may not know how to receive and open up the contact card.
I think copy and pasting the contact through text message is the best way because its not complicated at all and you can send the contact to anyone wherever they are and you can just copy the contact into your phone book.

Unit 14. M2
Devices like laptops are good for sending pictures because you can send them through e-mails all around the world but they have many costs.
Dongles are useful because you just plug it in to a laptop and it gives you wireless internet. They can cost up to £15 or more for internet usage for a month but it depends how long you are on the internet for. The longer you are on the internet for the more it costs. It can be hard to send pictures via dongle on a laptop because the dongle can lose signal very easily therefore it can be very slow but once you get a signal it is easy and fast to send pictures.
SMS messages can cost up to 20p or more to send 1 picture message to another mobile device. It can cost more when you are sending it to different countries though. Picture messages can be very slow to send and sometimes they fail to send.
Unit 14. P4
The photographer could use their smartphone to send pictures via SMS. The only disadvantage of using SMS is that it costs money to send a picture message and once you receive the message it can be pix-elated, small and not very clear. Another way to send pictures is by creating a wireless hot spot through your smartphone. You can connect various devices like a laptop, a tablet or a smart camera and you can send pictures or documents to them. You can also send pictures via e-mail and by using e-mail you can make the picture as big as you want it to be and you can also edit photos through apps like Instagram, Picasa etc..
Unit 14. M1
To keep your device and protocols safe you can put a password on your device and you can also put a password on the Wi-Fi that you are connected to, no one else can get into the Wi-Fi unless they know the password. Without a password people can hack your device and they can put viruses or even get into personal information/documents therefore the password you set should be hard to guess and you must be able to remember it. Another way is to change your password often just in case someone knows your password. Encryption is a security that protects your data. To access an encrypted file you must use a private key or password.

Unit 14. P3
A protocol
is used in various fields including communication and for office conversations
or groups. It means a set of rules or guidelines that need to be followed. The protocols used are:
Wi-Fi – Wi-Fi
is wireless internet that is from a dongle. It uses radio waves to provide high
speed wireless internet and network connections. You do not have to connect anything
up to your phone, laptop, tablet e.g. … You normally need a password to connect
up to the dongle though.
SMS – SMS stands
for short messaging service or simply known as ‘texting’. People use SMS to
send messages to people via mobile or internet devices. You can only use up to
160 characters (letters) per text.
GPRS – GPRS
stands for General Packet Radio Service. It is a mobile data service available to
2G and 3G communication devices. GPRS is slower than 3G it doesn’t connect to
the internet as quick but it can help send SMS or any other multimedia message
to other people.
Bluetooth - Bluetooth is a wireless technology and you can send different data to another device over short distances. For example...two phones pair up with bluetooth and you can send images, music, etc. It uses radio frequency to transmit data.
Infrared - Infrared uses infrared light to transfer data. Infrared communication provides a point-to-point, low cost way to connect computers with each other. You can also use infrared to connect up with other devices and appliances.
